‘Drag Race’ alum Maxi Shield stars in the wild crime comedy “The Winner Takes It All”

Featuring Sydney drag icon and “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Down Under” alum Maxi Shield, The Winner Takes It All is a farcical queer comedy that pays loving homage to the early works of John Waters.

Jessica Marchi stars in the film as Kiki, a wealthy socialite who confides in her best friend Maxine that her husband is cheating on her. In danger of losing her rather large fortune, Kiki elicits Maxi’s help to uncover the truth about her husband’s adultery.

The pair soon learn, however, that not all is as it seems. Throw in a gigolo, a porn star and non-stop lashings of camp and you are in for one of the funniest and most joyously, knowingly and proudly stupid rides of your life.

From first-time director James Demitri, this transgressive new comedy has all the makings of a campy LGBTQ+ classic.

Girls Will Be Girls is celebrating its 20th anniversary!

Celebrating its 20-year anniversary, the drag-tastic queer comedy classic Girls Will Be Girls stars Jack Plotnick, Jeffrey Roberson and Clinton Leupp (better known as drag icon Coco Peru) as three actresses at various places on the Hollywood food chain who navigate the minefield of love, aging and irrepressible ambition.

Plotnick stars as Evie Harris, a washed-up, alcoholic, aging C-list actress who lives a Norma Desmond lifestyle in a woefully out-of-date bungalow. Her roommate, Coco, is a lonely doormat of a spinster who carries a torch for the handsome young doctor who performed her abortion years ago.

When the pair take in new roommate Varla Simonds, the voracious, starry-eyed daughter of Evie’s former rival, their lives are turned upside down. Tensions and jealousies among the three women reach a boiling point and treachery soon rears its ugly head.

Paying homage to camp classics like Valley of the Dolls, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? and Mommie Dearest – not to mention All About Eve – Girls Will Be Girls is a delightfully outrageous comedy that revels in good old-fashioned drag bitchery.

Ossan’s Love, a queer romantic comedy series from Hong Kong, comes to Dekkoo

Tin (Edan Lui) has been single his whole life. One day, he discovers that his boss secretly harbors romantic feelings and is even willing to leave his wife to be with him.

Tin confides this news to his friends, only to discover that his co-worker and flatmate, Muk is also deeply in love with him. Even though Tin has never ever thought about dating another man, he finds himself overwhelmed by his new popularity and slowly falling for the men who hold him dear.

Originally broadcast in Hong Kong, Ossan’s Love is a charming romantic series based on a Japanese drama of the same name. Both shows are notable as the first mainstream television series to feature gay love as a central storyline in their respective regions.

A filmmaker becomes the target of a serial killer in the colorful new horror-comedy CUT!

Writer-director Marc Ferrer also stars in his new film CUT! as Marcos, a struggling low-budget filmmaker who is desperate to finish his latest project – a queer take on Italian Giallo thrillers of the 1970s.

When the cast and crew of his movie end up the victims of a deranged serial killer, Marcos quickly becomes both a prime suspect for the investigators and the killer’s next potential target. He soon finds he must keep working if he wants to survive.

Paying homage to sleazy Euro-thrillers and the early films of Pedro Almodóvar, this vibrant new horror-comedy melds together mystery, camp, pastiche and heavy doses of homoeroticism.

CUT! is a rollicking meta slasher which proudly showcases the weird, wild and wonderful world of queer artists in Spain and Catalonia.

A charming and hilarious fusion of gay romantic comedy, Jewish family drama and French bedroom farce, director Mikael Buch’s Let My People Go follows the travails and daydreams of a lovelorn young mail carrier named Ruben, played by “Call My Agent” and Knife+Heart star Nicolas Maury.

Though born and raised by a Jewish family in France, Ruben is now living out a fairytale fantasy with his gorgeous Nordic boyfriend in Finland – where he got his MA in “Comparative Sauna Cultures.” Unfortunately for him, a series of mishaps and a lovers’ quarrel exile the heartbroken Ruben back to Paris and his zany family just before Passover.

Now he’s stuck, forced to regress in the company of his ditzy mom, played by Almodovar goddess Carmen Maura, and his aging lothario father, played by Truffaut regular Jean-François Stévenin.

Co-scripted by Buch and renowned arthouse auteur Christophe Honoré, the writer-director behind Dans Paris, Love Songs and Sorry Angel, Let My People Go both celebrates and upends Jewish and gay stereotypes with wit, gusto and style to spare. The result is deeply heartwarming, fabulously kitschy and hysterically funny.
