Workplace paranoia gets out of control in the short horror comedy The Office is Mine

A short dark comedy about workplace horror, writer-director Michael Varrati’s The Office is Mine tells a 13-minute story about the competitive nature in all of us.

Despite the corporate monotony of his job, Zac (Ben Baur) feels like he’s got it all figured out. As “the only gay in the office,” his penchant for hot gossip and in-the-know recommendations have assured his place as the most fabulous employee in an otherwise dull landscape… or so he thinks.

With the arrival of a new hire, the ultra-chic Tristan (Chris Salvatore), Zac suddenly feels like the very thing that makes him stand out is in jeopardy. What’s more, Zac finds himself increasingly convinced that Tristan is intentionally trying to replace him.

Though Owen (Navaris Darson), his loving boyfriend, assures him that all is fine, Zac can’t help but slip further into a world of paranoia and self-doubt. As Zac’s world begins to unravel, it sets him on a collision course with Tristan… who may or may not be all that he seems.

As the two men propel toward a violent and unpredictable confrontation, only one thing is certain: The office isn’t big enough for the both of them!

The wild Icelandic horror-comedy Thirst comes to Dekkoo for Halloween!

The wild new Icelandic horror-comedy Thirst has already earned an enthusiastic cult audience internationally, as well as rave reviews from genre-savvy critics.

Directed by Gaukur Úlfarsson and Steinþór Hróar Steinþórsson, the film takes place in a small town where evil is lurking around and strange crimes and brutality frequently occur.

Drug addict Hulda (Hulda Lind Kristinsdóttir) is suspected of having something to do with her brother’s death and is being investigated by the police. After being released due to insufficient evidence, she crosses paths with Hjörtur (Hjörtur Sævar Steinason), a lonely, old gay vampire who helps her bring her brother back to life.

This brings unforeseen consequences, in addition to their ongoing battle with a bunch of televangelists who want them dead.

Short Film Spotlight: If I’m Good

A brand-new Dekkoo Films original short film from director Jonathon Pawlowski and screenwriter Madison Hatfield, If I’m Good is a touching short film about grief and finding a light at the end of the tunnel.

Sam (Jono Mitchell) isn’t in a great place. He lost his husband, unexpectedly, only twelve days ago. As anyone who has been through the grieving process knows, it takes a while, and Sam is at just about the point where the reality of his loss is beginning to sink in. Though his sister (Jordan Blair Mangold Brown) wants nothing more than to help, there isn’t a whole lot she can do to mend her brother’s broken heart.

When Sam takes a trip to the pharmacy, he meets Jorge – pronounced “George” – (Daniel Annone). Self-described as “the worst pharmacy associate,” Jorge breaks the rules and decides to flirt with his cute new customer. While Sam is nowhere near ready to start a new relationship, Jorge’s attention brings him just a tiny glimmer of hope – and a reminder that, no matter how difficult things may seem, there are always new opportunities around the corner. The two end up spending a little time together, and Sam soon turns an important corner.

Short Film Spotlight: Gentleman Spa

Hao is a lonely and romantic young janitor who works at a spa for gay men. He dreams of finding a loving, committed relationship, but lacks the confidence to make it happen.

When he meets Kai, a customer, and has an opportunity to become his masseuse, an unexpected bond begins to grow and Hao suddenly sees a chance to make his dreams come true.

A short comedy-drama from Taiwanese co-writer Bon An and co-writer/director Jhi-Han Yu, Gentleman Spa is filled with awkward sexual tension, but also packs a positive message about feeling comfortable in your own skin (especially when it’s coming into contact with attractive strangers).

Beach Rats star Harris Dickinson drives men wild in the vibrant Postcards from London

Jim (played by Harris Dickinson – the star of Beach Rats and the upcoming The King’s Man) is so beautiful you might think a Greek sculpture had just come to life.

His future in the cultural-desert that is his small Cumbrian town would consist of working at the local nuclear power plant Sellafield, socializing at his local, and going to bingo as a treat. So like many before him, Jim journeys to the great Metropolis that is London to seek fame, fortune, culture and excitement. The epicenter of all this activity is of course Soho, with its bright neon lights, street life, and bars catering to every gender and whim.

From writer-director Steve McLean, Postcards From London tells the story of this remarkably beautiful teenager as falls in with The Raconteurs – a gang of unusual high class male escorts who specialize in post-coital conversation.

From shy novice to sought after escort and eventually artist’s muse, Jim would be the toast of the town if it wasn’t for his annoying affliction. He suffers from Stendhal Syndrome, a rare condition which causes him to hallucinate and faint when he encounters real works of art. But when Jim is roped into the world of detecting art forgery, could his condition bring about his downfall?

New episodes of Bad Boy are available now!

Sort of like The Odd Couple with the fast-paced sensibility of 30 Rock, the series Bad Boy  – with new episodes now available on Dekkoo – explores the dynamic between Mack (Tony Harth), a young, dumb-ish “bad boy” with a crazy past, and Scott (Artie O’Daly), a straight-laced man Mack has chosen to adopt as his “Daddy”… much to Scott’s frustration.

Both characters are gay (Artie is in real life; Tony, sadly, is not) and gay themes and undertones are woven into the comedy.  Plus, there is a hell of a twist in store.

After releasing the first episode online, Bad Boy garnered hundreds of thousands of views. With limited resources, the creative team behind the show set out to complete what were clearly in-demand new episodes.

The lead actors originally met doing a play in Los Angeles. Artie, who also directs the series, is a prolific actor who has been on shows such as “Modern Family”, “Silicon Valley”, “The Big Bang Theory” and “General Hospital.” He also co-created the web series Successful People (which you can also watch now on Dekkoo). Tony is a recent arrival to L.A. from the state of Wisconsin and has already appeared in multiple commercials and sketches.  Together, they made Bad Boy, which took on a life of its own. Now they’re chasing it wherever it goes!

The director of Run Lola Run explores throuplehood in the German drama 3

From Tom Tykwer, the director behind Babylon Berlin, Cloud Atlas and Run Lola Run, 3 follows Hanna and Simon (Sophie Rois and Sebastian Schippe), a couple in their early forties who live together in Berlin.

With their twentieth anniversary looming, they both become restless despite being truly and deeply in love. Unbeknownst to one another, they separately become acquainted with Adam (Devid Striesow), an attractive younger man, and fall in love with him.

Inspired by, yet clearly not, the typical 1930’s rom-com romp, this reinvention of those classic films, combined with with Tykwer’s sleek direction, offers up a playful reinterpretation: an intellectual study of a modern couple looking for redefinition in a world of absolutes.

Theality TV follows the making of an unusual Off-Broadway musical

Hosted by iconic journalist Michael Musto, Theality TV is a brand-new reality show about an Off-Broadway musical’s efforts to see the light of day.

The series follows Rob Gould, a musical-loving writer-director who is trying to stage his piece “Little House on the Ferry.” After years of effort, his dreams may finally be coming true. An investor gives him a chance to produce the project, with two major catches: he only has one month and ten thousand dollars with which to work.

Even on this shoestring budget, Rob leaps at the opportunity to state his masterpiece. But it won’t be easy. The casting process is insane, the actors are divas, the crew is difficult and there is always another challenge or roadblock around each and every corner. But Rob is determined to make his dream a reality at any and all costs.

Clement (Yannis Bougeard) is gay. His roommate Alex (Carolina Jurczak) is also gay. They are looking for a new roommate for their big apartment in Paris with only one request… they must also be gay!

The pair seems to find luck when they meet Leo (Bellamine Abdelmalek), a charming young student who is in deep trouble – desperate to find a place to sleep. And Leo will do just about anything to get that room, whatever it takes.

Based on a theatrical play originally staged in Paris in 2006, Clément, Alex et tous les autres is a sentimental French comedy that isn’t afraid to cross boundaries.

After studying film in the United States, Lafuente returned to Spain to start his own production company to produce queer cinema and music videos.
